This is, however, carried out on a slightly smaller scale to the tanks we install here, but you’ll certainly get the general idea.

The process of construction is a thorough one – but it doesn’t have to mean unnecessary hassle for you and your business. Here’s how it works:
Preparation
Your tank can be constructed above or below ground, and its base needs to be flat – preferably laser-levelled, too. It requires around 150 ml of compacted road base, no fill, and in terms of the foundation on which your tank will be built, it needs to be able to stand some weight.
Choose ground of uniform thickness that’s capable of bearing a pressure of 100 kPa and you’ll be more than ready to get going. You’ll also need to have plenty of room around the tank, for building the scaffolding after laying out the formwork.
Manufacturing
Made from a high strength concrete, our tanks are built to stand the test of time. Our team pours at 50mpa and our HSC at 28 days cures to 72mpa. This mix design means we can gain high strength in hardly any time at all.
Using Australian structural steel, which is welded as per Australian standards, this is a method which ensures an even concrete coverage. Without such grounding, your concrete tank won’t be nearly as efficient.
Manufactured in a seamless steel pulse mould, all our concrete tanks are made in a closed factory away from the elements. This serves to eliminate any micro cracks, and the steel pulse ensures no joins, and therefore no leaks.
All our tanks can be adapted to wine cellars, should you require it, and we can even reduce the height of the tanks, or increase their thickness. It’s all part of our second-to-none service here at Versatile Tanks.
